Side Casting

Alvey Model 40BXL, 45BC and 500BCXL Side Cast Reels
These two reels are designed with a graphite base assembly that has a cam lock instead of the stainless steel lever and spring unit utilized on the other model side cast reels. This design allows for a casting style similar to that used with spinning reels.

1) Grip the rod and reel as shown.		2) When comfortable, draw the fishing line back so that it rests behind the lug.
3) Place your thumb over the lug to hold the line, then turn the reel to the open faced position.		4) Cast, it's easy as child's play

NOTE:
Always use a small swivel in front of your lure or bait rig to prevent line twist.
